It's Douglas's birthday today. Douglas is Spane's father. I haven't heard from him, and I don't expect to.

Spane and I went to Jason's Mother's house with Marissa. Spane was a little darling and slept most of the time. I have a picture somewhere of him sleeping on me.

I love my child.

Spane was circumcised. Lori Farion took me to Family Medicine Center, and we smoked a cigarette while Spane was having his procedure. They won't let the mother in the room, and I almost chickened out at the last minute anyway.

Spane did not seem to unhappy about it when I got him back. They said he had been a very good boy, and told me exactly what to do to keep it clean.

I only have information on the Sun, Moon and Ascendant, because these are the most important, but I will get to the rest shortly. I want this information for Spane when he grows up and is curious.

Spane and I come home from the hospital. There is no smoke smell at all. Marissa and I go out to smoke a cigarette and when we get back, Jason is holding Spane. Spane likes him.

At about 12:30am the epidural they had given me in a drip began to stop working. I could feel my toes, then I could feel my arse, and then I started feeling my contractions. Spane was hitting my pelvic bone, what they call back contractions, and let me tell you, they really hurt. But, since I don't complain very much, it took me a while before I asked the nurse to check. She called the doctor to come out, a very handsome doctor, and when he arrived at 4:30am he said the epidural machine was off, and that was why I felt the contractions. He turned the magic juice back on, and I happily lay there until it was time to start pushing.

Spane Anthony Boswell was born at 10:30am and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and he was 19 3/4 inches long. He has a lot of hair, and a very loud voice. He was delivered by Dr. Wu, Dr. Kimberly Bush-Smith, and Teresa Parker was there, holding my right leg open while I pushed Spane out.

Teresa, Brittany and I went to the hospital today and turned in my paperwork, so now I'm all registered. We also took a small tour of the maternity ward.

It's really nice. You get a private room, with a little basinette. Glendale Adventist Medical Center doesn't have a delivery room, nor does it have a nursery. It's better that way because then the mother and baby have a much better time with bonding. Additionally, the mother doesn't have to listen to a lot of other mothers complaining, etc.

On the way home, we stopped at 711 to get sodas. As we were walking out we saw Josef and decided to flag him down. It was really funny, seeing 12 year old Brittany, Teresa in her skimpy shorts and top, and me, the pregnant woman leaning out on Broadway with our thumbs stuck out. Josef was laughing so hard he almost wrecked the car.

Well, tomorrow is the BIG day. Spane is going to come out into the world. Teresa and Brittany will come to the hospital, and Josef and Jennifer, and of course, my coach, Marissa will be there as well.

Ok, now I know what Dr. Wu was talking about. They want to induce labor. I told everyone that I still had work to do, so we're doing in Thursday the 20th.

I don't know if I want them to induce labor. I've heard it's really, really intense, and I would prefer not to go with drugs for pain. So, I've been telling Spane to Just keep swimming and, especially to Swim Down!!!. I don't know if he's listening or not.

Marissa finally got her big check today, so we walked over to the bank to open an account for her. I tell you what, that girl is great. She's made friends with everyone at the bank. Good thing we went to my branch, too. They're the best. We got everything open, and the bank manager approved everything. Of course, Marissa was telling everyone we were going to have party at 6:00 on the 21st, cocktails and hors d'oeuvre, to celebrate the arrival of Spane. I'm going to have to take Spane over to the bank after he's born and get him a little savings account (gee!, that brings tears to me eyes just thinking about it!).

Dr. Wu said that I would have Spane on Thursday and that he would talk to my regular doctor, Dr. Bush-Smith about it. I am excited and apprehensive, not only that, I don't even know if I have everything ready!

I did a very bad thing today. I downloaded Pretty Good Mahjongg. I had forgotten what an addicting game that is.

According to the Yahoo Pregnancy calendar, Spane is ready to come out at any time. But, I would rather take my doctor's word for it. Spane seems to recognize my roommate Jason's voice, but not Marissa. I suspect this is because she hasn't been feeling well lately and been sleeping a lot. I don't think she has been taking her Intra Food Supplement, which I know was helping her.

Well, Spane and I had a very interesting day today. We went to breast feeding class, and I learned about what to expect, and that it really isn't as frightening as I thought it was going to be.

If I can stand it, I'm going to try to have this kid without any pain medication. I really don't like the idea of the having a drugged child. Makes you wonder how many adults are still chasing their drug enhanced birth.

The date still hasn't really been set for Spane's arrival, some estimates are the 10th, and some the 24th. I think the only person who really knows when Spane is going to come out is Spane.

Had an interesting talk with Rona Chapman from Two-Time about the newest pictures of her clothing line. I think we'll finally have it all sorted out, and no more mistakes like the last time. Rona's going to shoot the clothing on a flat surface, and have her neighbor model one style in a representative fabric, then we're going to give the visitor the ability to "change the model's clothing" so to speak. Of course, it's all going to be done with simple PHP and HTML, no need for any plugins.

Looks like working with Adrian is going to start really soon. That means I'm going to have to get all the other clients put to bed. I have a feeling I'm going to be really, really busy. Time will tell.

For some reason, Google still is not spidering IntraProducts correctly, even though I did change id to spid.

I would like it to go to Glossary, or Products just because other spiders have had no problems. I already posted this to alt.internet.search-engines. We'll see what happens. Google has been by twice, but still no deeper than the index page. Hmmm...

Today I go to the doctor and to WIC. I felt guilty going to the grocery store today, considering that my grocery store, Ralphs, locked union workers out. But, my WIC checks have Ralphs printed on them. What's a mother to be to do?
